more vulnerable than others to develop severe infections.

There is an emergent need for CareSpace to provide a HIPAA compliant and accessible COVID-19 surveillance method to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The purpose of this document is to support CareSpace customers and partners with a comprehensive guide and provide answers to many of the important questions they are facing as part of implementing a new back to <____> (work, school, travel, etc) solution. Together we can reduce the spread of contagion by delivering a new standard for remote safety and care support.

1.1 What are the key features of the Health Band?

Key features:

  • Accessibility: Independently works with and without mobile devices through beacon technology.
    • Supports elderly, young children, and other discrete cohorts that may not have access to a mobile device, 4G or wifi without requiring them to make technical advances.
    • With mobile enables the remaining population to seamlessly utilise the technology and it’s full feature set.


  • Integration: The Health Band SDK supports the integration to third-party apps and platforms.


  • Security: Security and privacy are our highest priority. Temperature data is encrypted on the device and transmits through CareSpace’s HIPAA compliant platform.


  • Battery life: One year continuous battery life with replacement.


  • Quality: Manufactured in the US by Avnet.
1.2 Are there any additional custom features to provide additional value to the Health Band?

Health Band Add on Features:

  • Touchless payment processing: The Purewrist chip turns your Health Band to your wallet on the go. Use credit card or debit card products for coffee, subways, groceries, and every day payments made simple, safe, secure, and contactless.


  • Visual Vitals: Integrated mobile tool (added to Health Band app) that uses a mobile camera to collect clinically validated visual vitals using PPG and RPPG technologies to report biometrics, including: heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood alcohol concentration(coming soon).


  • Rapid COVID-19 On-Site Testing System: Screen employees at risk to a 10 minute on premise COVID-19 test to conclusively determine whether they have contracted the virus. Provided by Inspire Diagnostics.


  • Gateway: A streamlined hardware infrastructure, supported by an ecosystem of network partners able to support the IoT gateway on premise to monitor Health Bands at a facility.


  • Contact Tracing: A comprehensive option provided through the Health Band gateway and app via Bluetooth using the contract tracing module via Coalition, an open source contract tracing integration.


  • Telehealth and Monitoring: Provided by Providence St. Joseph, the third largest healthcare provider in the US. Plans and pricing are based on a per member/per month.
1.3 How does the Health Band compare to other temp sensors such as infrared thermometers?

Non-contact temperature devices such as infrared thermometers and COVID-19 tests have proven to be less effective because they only measure a point in time. If an individual is infected shortly after being tested, it wouldn’t show up and everyone would be falsely reassured by the negative result. Also, without having a reliable historical temperature baseline and understanding the true temp variability of an individual there is a heightened risk of exposure in the facility.


Given this situation, one of the core objectives is to implement a higher standard of care and supplement infrared thermometers with the Health Band delivering real-time historical temp data through encrypted Bluetooth via a gateway at each facility door.


CareSpace has developed a new surgical pathway that includes patients issued with a Health Band in the mail two weeks prior to their operation. If the elevated temp or other symptoms become present, the caregiver will be notified through the monitoring of the wearable and they will reschedule surgery, thus maximizing surgical utilization and outcomes.

1.4 What is the recommended location for wearing the Health Band?

Health professionals recommend that best skin temperature results are achieved above the radial artery on the inner side of the wrist given main conduit arteries best preserve the basal blood temperature.

The following claims can be made relative to skin temp monitoring:

  • Maximum temperature accuracy between the human body temp range will be .250 C as a delta of temperature at the skin.


  • All temperature readings will be provided and claimed to be relative to a set baseline temperature with an accuracy of .250 C.


  • Temperature readings will be provided at a resolution of .06250 C based on the provided data from the temperature sensors IC vendor Microchip.


  • These claims are based on the provided datasheet for the associated temperature IC provided by Microchip.


The best way to collect skin temperature is based on skin historical temperature variability vs. isolated temperature. The results provided by clinical studies have proven both infrared and skin temperature have variations in accuracy based on the complexity. Therefore, no claims should be made specific to direct real-time skin temp or infrared temperature accuracy.

However, the following claims can be made relative to skin temp monitoring:

  • Max temp accuracy between the human body temp range will be .250 C as a delta of temperature at the skin.

1.5 Does the Health Band app include a contactless heart rate measurement based on interpreting heart rate diagnostics from the face using video intelligence?

We deliver visual vitals from third-party technology that uses a revolutionary data science platform. The tech combines signal processing and machine learning coupled with a proprietary, comprehensive AI, deep-learning framework that delivers best-in-class results in terms of accuracy, performance, and stability. The technology is continuing to evolve. There are studies that illustrate results for reliability.

1.6 Does the Health Band support contract tracing?

The best results for contact tracing are provided through the Health Band gateway and app via Bluetooth. The additional contract tracing module we offer is provided by Coalition, an open source contract tracing platform.

1.7 Does CareSpace have access to COVID 19 mobile testing units that can be implemented to support a Health Band corporate deployment?

CareSpace is partnered with Inspired Diagnostics. This group has an FDA-approved best-in-class point-of-care testing platform that combines high accuracy with rapid test results from a leading diagnostics company with an established 20+ year track record and millions of tests deployed. Inspired Diagnostics has been contracted by larger enterprises and organizations including Dell, NBA and Aflac and others.



2.1 Who supports the Health Band manufacturing and CareSpace monitoring platform?

Avnet AVT (NASDAQ) is one of the largest distributors of electronic components, they manufacture and ship over 122B products a year. They are manufacturing the Health Band both domestically in the US and abroad.


The CareSpace Connected Care platform integrates and combines an ecosystem of all digital touch points, including home devices and services, telemedicine, mobile tools, wearables (including the Health Band), and other emerging technologies under one simple and unified digital experience.


CareSpace captures deep insights of the customer needs and designs intentional education pathways for the ideal experiences, and then brings this to life in a seamless and intuitive fashion.


Carespace is a strategic partner of Medtronic (the largest medical device company) and Microsoft Health. The platform and Health Band was funded through Microsoft innovation funds.


CareSpace is integrated as the experience and education/engagement layer of Avnet’s IoTConnect platform (Review tech specs of IoTConnect).


We are strategically partnered with Avnet to co-innovate the CareSpace Cloud for remote care and safety management.


The CareSpace Cloud will be a bundled offering of Avnet IoT Connect, CareSpace Virtual Assistant, CareSpace Health Band, and CareSpace IoT Gateway devices.

2.2 How long does the Health Band battery last and does low battery affect accuracy?

The Health Band battery is designed to last one year without replacement. Once the coin cell battery has expired it can be easily replaced. Low battery power does not impact the performance of the Health Band.

2.3 Is the Health Band waterproof?

The IP Code (or International Protection Rating, sometimes also interpreted as Ingress Protection Rating) for the Health Band is rated at M7. The waterproof level includes ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion).


The Health Band gasket design provides a greater degree of water resistance to support pool/spa/exercise.

2.4 How does the Health Band stand up to: vibrations (e.g. mountain biking), heat (e.g., sunbaking) cold weather (e.g. winter sports)?

The Health Band is a sturdy and durable design that is designed to survive vibrations, heat and cold weather elements.

2.5 Does the Health Band just continue from where taken-off, or is a new cycle commenced with a pause?

The Health Band continues to record the store data on an hourly basis even if the Health Band is not worn.

2.6 How long does the Health Band store temp data locally?

The Health Band saves data locally on an internal hard drive as long as there is battery life. The Health Band has a capacity of 60 records in memory. The customer has the ability to choose the frequency of the recording of data. CareSpace recommends every hour for data from the Health Band to be recorded at a minimum. It is recommended that the device is paired with a mobile device or gateway one or two times daily so that it can clear the historical packet of data on a regular basis. The size of this data packet is 784 bytes per 24 hours.

2.7 Is the Health Band considered a medical device with FDA clearance?

No, the Health Band is not a FDA medical device as we’re not currently collectly skin temp variability for medical use. The purpose is for fitness and wellness. The Health Band is being deployed as a CE certified in the US, Europe, and Australia.


However, we are currently working on a series of research studies and will be seeking FDA emergency use clearance in the near future.



3.1 How does the Health Band connect and report data?

The Health Band has two ways to report data via encrypted Bluetooth, including either supported mobile app or Gateway. 


The Health Band stores encrypted data locally regardless of Bluetooth connectivity. The Health Band will transfer data to the mobile app or gateway once a Bluetooth connection has been made. 


The Health Band historical reports are stored to a secure HIPAA compliant centralized monitoring platform for remote care and safety management.

3.2 How is data reflected if the user removes it (e.g. pre-shower) and then forgets to put it on prior to going to sleep?

We provide the visualization of the data to show when non-usage occurs. Due to recording ambient temperature we have a layer of intelligence to determine when the Health Band is not worn.

3.3 Can the user erase an erroneous high temp alert through their phone App (e.g. if worn in a hot shower)?

There is both an automated and manual check in process where the user responds through the app to usage based situations to improve the intelligence of the Health Band monitoring. 

3.4 What customer access is there to edit recordings (e.g., high recording), but the customer wants to remove it so as not to impact their work/travel?

The user can not edit the temp recordings from the Health Band; they can only respond and explain the data. By using the self-check in process, the user can also share other vitals to assess if they have other recognized symptoms.

3.5 How many temp recordings occur on a daily basis?

There is flexibility in the frequency of recording temp from the Health Band via Bluetooth. CareSpace recommends a minimum of every 30 minutes to an hour with a historical record being submitted to the cloud once or twice a day. 

Beside the regular recordings there is an automated recording process that triggers when temp registers at 101℉  (38.3℃) for an hour.

3.6 How much data is transmitted to the Cloud from the Health Band on a daily basis?

The average estimated upload size of the Health Band package is 4KB.  Each temperature record (30 min or 1 hour of data, based on how this is setup by the administrator) is 16 bytes. CareSpace facilitates an automated daily or, bi-daily upload sequence, every 12 or 24 hrs. worth of data (1 record every 30 min + current temp = 49).  The daily record would include 49 records x 16 bytes.  Or 784 bytes of data.

3.7 Is the preset fever temperature changeable?

CareSpace supports the ability for the admin to control the preset fever temperature trigger.

3.8 Does the Health Band app and platform use machine learning and AI?

The Health Band utilizes ML and AI to improve accuracy.  CareSpace is a strategic innovation partner with Microsoft Health and they have contributed innovation funds and funded a team of data scientists to develop unique ML and AI models.  We are getting exposed to larger datasets to train unique algorithms from some of the larger providers in the US, including Providence St. Joseph Health and Kaiser Permanente.  

3.9 What datasets are you using to train, validate, and model your ML strategy?

CareSpace continues to invest in evolving the ML intelligence to reach the highest degree of accuracy of the Health Band skin temperature variation monitoring. Our ML model includes interpreting and applying logic between multi-variant, random forest, classification, and regression algorithm(s) against several important daily temperature categories.  Once a user completes the intelligent calibration process they are assigned to a specific [Classified] category, we then apply anomaly detection to identify gap variances in temperature within the defined rhythms.  The Health Band ML model operates on the edge via encrypted Bluetooth with the mobile phone acting as the Gateway to remove cloud dependency.  However, the Health Band also supports Gateway communication so users share encrypted data via Bluetooth without needing to be paired to their mobile phone. 


The CareSpace Cloud derives additional insights to the Health Band ML training from the Health Band app and platform via user feedback/engagement and integrated 3rd party data sources (e.g., visual vitals, de-identified EHR data, etc). 


CareSpace has an extended ecosystem of data partnerships with Microsoft Health, Unisys, Dell, Binah.ai, and Providence St Joseph Health, etc., to provide de-identified datasets to help train the ML model. Providence is the third larger health provider in the US with 5M+ patients. 

3.10 How does the Health Band app and platform calibrate accurate temperature variation and what does CareSpace use to test for accuracy?

CareSpace provides a calibration process that includes loT testing in a controlled environment to provide validation data for .25*C minimum accuracy using temperature-controlled hot beds.


The CareSpace app and platform also have a 24 hour intelligent calibration process that uses ML/AI to populate a personal dataset built from historical data.  The personal temperature variation signature continues to be calibrated based on a personal historical data record.  


CareSpace has a research partnership with Providence St. Joseph Health to participate in clinical studies to identify temperature relationships to fertility, seizures, sepsis and more, as well as responses to temperature changes in vaccines and medications and chronic diseases such as COPD, Cancer, and Diabetes.

3.11 Is there capacity for the user to comment or flag instances where they undertake activity that may skew the trend or will the AI/ML recognise these anomalies?

Yes, the user participation with the check in process provides context of the elevated temperature (e.g., exercise). This level of engagement with users will be used to improve the intelligence of the personalized temperature variation monitoring model we are implementing. 

3.12 What problems are you solving using ML?

The initial problem CareSpace is planning to solve with machine learning (ML) includes early detection of an infection. This includes building unique ML models for the  identification and interpretation of the circadian rhythm of temperature to understand when changes occur. To solve this problem we will introduce a ML calibration process that will classify circadian rhythms for the user and recognize fluctuations that indict whether their body is fighting against an infection. 

We are not concerned about actual temperature, rather we are focusing on temperature variability .

3.13 What data points are you using, and how are you collecting data?

We are collecting the following data points:

  • Ambient and skin temperature
  • User feedback data points when variation in temp detected (Exercise, Hard Work, Walk outside) within the mobile experience
  • Third Party API – PulseOx SPO2, Stress (Pupil), Blood Pressure, Heart Rate
  • Collecting with iOS, Android (as gateway) and third party gateways
  • Leverage Edge SDKs with our IoTConnect Platform using Azure infrastructure to collect into blob storage for cloud AI/ML training
3.14 How are you classifying your data?
  • By Standard Temp: Against a global set point at start.
  • By Day: Gathering 7 day variance for users (Day 1-7) 168 data sets per user during this timeframe.
  • By Defined Median: for new set point for this user based on initial week of use
  • By Model Variation: Applying and identifying the different model(s) types across several groups who are participating in the trial. 
  • By Group/Age/Condition: We will have variation to accommodate males and females within different sample groups, youth users, and those with different health conditions (e.g, diabetes, COPD, etc).


4.1 What is the Health Band customer journey for implementation and adoption?

Step1: CareSpace implements a private, white-labeled instance of the app and platform. A Gateway configuration can also be set up).


Step 2: Employees self-register an account when they receive their Health Band. 


Step 3: Employees privately enroll in the Health Band monitoring program. If elevated temperature occurs (over 101o F/38.3C) then the Health Band will physically glow. 


Step 4: Elevated temperature triggers a self-check in process in the app with digital diagnostic measurements are captured via an employee’s mobile phone camera. The visual vitals captured include Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Oxygen Saturation, Respiration, Mental Stress, Blood Pressure (coming soon). The goal is to reduce false positive and provide a more reliable way to determine whether an individual is symptomatic. 


Step 5: Communication is routed to a care coordinator for telehealth consultation with mobile testing units on site available to confirm COVID-19 diagnosis with >90% accuracy. 

4.2 How does CareSpace set up new users?

The onboarding process happens through a self-registration or manual registration process in parallel to the delivery of the Health Band.  Each enterprise customer is given access to their own private instance of the platform that they can support either in the CareSpace Cloud or in their own private instance.


Based on the support program the customer selects, the administration of the platform responds accordingly. For example if the customer chooses our monitoring services by Providence vs. their own self-supported monitoring.

4.3 Does CareSpace support a back to work safety plan?

Yes, CareSpace supports an end-to-end solution that includes a viable way to lower the risk profile for employers.


4.4 Does CareSpace support a back to school safety plan?

Yes, CareSpace supports an end-to-end solution that includes a viable way to lower the risk profile for schools.


4.5 Who hosts the information; how do you ensure a secure environment for HIPAA related information?

We are a strategic partner in Microsoft’s Smart Healthcare Solution.  The CareSpace HIPAA compliant platform connects to IoTConnect to offer increased capacity to build complete IoT digital health solutions and scale them in a quick and cost-effective manner.  The CareSpace Solution includes the following suite of offerings:


  • CareSpace Cloud: integrates into IoTConnect to provide an ecosystem of tools and services, including the CareSpace virtual assistant platform for all digital touch points, including home devices and services, telemedicine, mobile tools, wearables, and other emerging digital health technologies under one simple and unified experience.


  • The CareSpace Health Band: A wristband with accurate and constant measurements of skin temperature to detect changes and provides instant alerts by glowing if elevated readings are detected. Companies are able to deploy and monitor employees through a simple remote monitoring platform and connected app that protects the security and privacy of their employees.


  • CareSpace Software Developer Kit (SDK) for Partners: CareSpace offers a robust SDK for partners and enterprise customers to integrate and support the Health Band from their own third-party apps and platform. The CareSpace SDK facilitates core HIPAA compliant monitoring activities for the Health Band without compromising the security and privacy of users.
4.6 What is the minimal Smartphone spec required to use the app?

We are not concerned about this. We have successfully completed testing on legacy iPad and Android devices and the app works. 

4.7 What support options are provided by CareSpace?

CareSpace supports both the hardware and the IOT (gateway, firmware, updates, security) infrastructure.  CareSpace also supports the application and the experience layer (Health Band app and cloud-based administration platform). 


CareSpace provides a dedicated support desk through a partnership with Providence St. Joseph. Customers subscribed to the Connected Care service are provided with 24×7 monitoring and telehealth support as well as technical support. 

4.8 Does CareSpace have support and services level metrics (e.g., stability, down time, accuracy, QA results, third party audits, etc?

The permitted downtime for CareSpace, includes:


  • Scheduled Maintenance Period.  Scheduled Maintenance Period is every other Tuesday 6 pm to 12 am PST.  CareSpace attempts to minimize service interruptions or delays in response times to the hosted licensed products during this Scheduled Maintenance Period. 


  • Emergency Maintenance Period.  These may be required as a result of conditions beyond the reasonable control of CareSpace, such as a cyber attack, during which time there may be a brief service interruption or response time delay.
4.9 How does CareSpace Support Issues with Platform and Licensed Product?
  • Urgent Issue.  An Urgent Issue exists when a Licensed Product is either non-functional, is significantly hindering operations for Client’s staff, is impacting services to Client’s customers, or a critical data capture issue exists.


  • Reporting the issue.  To report an urgent issue, email support@CareSpace.com and outline the technical support issue. A response will be generated within 12 hours of response. 


  • Timeframe to respond.  A CareSpace technical support representative will use reasonable efforts to respond to Service Calls within one (1) hour of receipt of a support ticket.  


  • Timeframe for progress update.  Within four (4) hours of the initial response, CareSpace will contact Client with a progress update in which CareSpace will make commercially reasonable efforts to include an estimated time to resolution, along with a description of the cause of the problem.


  • Non-Urgent Issue.  Includes non-urgent product issues, non-urgent support requests, enhancement requests, product questions, administrative support, or issues with non-production test environments.


  • Reporting the issue. For non-urgent issues, Client can submit a support request via the CareSpace support email at support@CareSpace.com. This is the preferred method as a service incident is created and Client is sent an acknowledgement with an incident ID.  Clients are able to track progress and status of all issues submitted.


  • Timeframe to respond.  A CareSpace support representative will use reasonable efforts to respond within four business hours but not more than one business day.
4.10 Does CareSpace have scheduled vulnerability testing to improve security?

CareSpace has set up automated vulnerability scanning and testing to efficiently manage the lifecycle of the vulnerabilities found. The main features include:

  • Tests for more than 5,000 vulnerabilities
  • Authenticated scanning
  • Tailored instructions on how to fix the vulnerabilities (including snippets of code)
  • API for every single feature
  • PCI-DSS and OWASP compliance reports
  • Designed for developers, easy to use, easy to understand.
  • Re-test vulnerabilities; define custom headers, multiple users, CVSS score, scheduling, and more. Vulnerability assessment is also known as vulnerability testing, is a software testing type performed to evaluate the security risks in the software system in order to reduce the probability of a threat.
4.11 Does CareSpace offer support in the local US time zone?

Yes, we have onsite and phone support options in the US for our enterprise accounts and web support for smaller tier implementations.

4.12 Does CareSpace support additional languages (for non English speaking corporations)?

We can set up localized app experience and provide virtual help desk support in the non-english speaking regions.

4.13 How soon can CareSpace respond and implement requests for issues reported?

We are committed to respond within 12-24 hours of a reported incident. We also have a weekly new release schedule. 

4.14 Does CareSpace support geo based and on premise cloud hosting?

Yes, we enable geo-based data sovereignty. We can support country specific public and also localized on-premise private cloud infrastructure.

4.15 Is the Health Band app and platform HIPAA compliant?

Yes, CareSpace supports a HIPAA compliant experience as part of our premium tier program offering. The program includes monitoring and telehealth services offered by our healthcare partners. For companies that do not want the HIPAA compliant version with a premium tier of monitoring services, we provide multi-layer security, through the platform to eliminate network-related security risks. The platform also utilizes device identity management and application security, including multi-factor authentication. What’s more, the platform helps mitigate security risks, unexpected downtime, low efficiency and information latency.  CareSpace leverages Secure MCU modules (Sphere) at the gateway. We meet the requirements for the seven prosperities of a hyper secure device standard of security at the cloud and edge by providing additional security including BLE encryption and FHIR wrappers.  

4.16 Is the Health Band app and Platform GDPR compliant?

CareSpace supports GDPR standards for the collective solution. A version of the mobile app will be GDPR compliant for the enterprises that deploy in EMEA.

4.17 Is the Health Band app geo-fenced?

The geo based data collection in the mobile app is through the contract tracing module.



5.1 What are the CareSpace platform solution options?

5.2 Is there a volume based pricing guide for the Health Band and monitoring programs?

5.3 What does the annual pricing include?

Annual pricing includes the amortized cost of the Health Band, as well as, a private CareSpace admin instance and ongoing CareSpace virtual assistant monitoring + CareSpace Cloud hosting.

5.4 Does the pricing include customization?

No, pricing includes the one time setup of a private instance of the admin console and virtual training. Any additional features to the hardware (e.g., custom bands) or platform (e.g., integrations) require an additional services fee. Custom quotes are available upon request. 

5.5 How long does it take for the Health Band to be manufactured and shipped?

CareSpace can ship a demo Health Band immediately for companies or organizations for testing purposes for opportunities that could lead to a larger order (500 min).  The production timeline is two to four weeks for orders under 8k units (locally manufactured) and twelve+ weeks for orders over 8k+ units (manufactured in Indonesia, Mexico, and/or Canada) . 



6.1 Does the Health Band have an SDK for third-party integration?

Yes, here are the materials associated with the current SDK: 


CareSpace is currently supporting Gateway implementation through our partnership ecosystem. CareSpace has dedicated hardware and deployment vendors that can deploy a dedicated gateway in less than two weeks. 

6.2 Does the CareSpace SDK Support Third-Party Apps and Platforms?

CareSpace custom services provide (fee-based) custom development support for the one-time integration of third party integrations and custom tools and features.  Each of the projects include documentation within our SDK.   Microsoft has provided innovation funding for 3rd party Gateway support. 

6.3 Does the Health Band Software Development Kit (SDK) support both iOS and Android?

The current SDK only supports iOS. However, we have developed a new version of the architecture using Flutter to support multi-device operating deployments.  The next version of the SDK will support Flutter. We also plan to support native Android via the SDK in the near future.

6.4 Can the UI/UX of the Health Band app be modified via app?

Yes, the CareSpace SDK provides full control over the UI and visualisation of data. 

6.5 What integrations does the CareSpace platform currently support?

In addition to providing an SDK for all of the core system functions for CareSpace and the Health Band, CareSpace also integrates to the following third party systems and platforms:

Does CareSpace provide a White-Label Program for third party enterprise customers and partners? 

Yes, customers and/or partners who purchase the SDK (one time fee) are entitled to participate in the CareSpace white-label program. 

The white-label program is an exclusive program that enables CareSpace to successfully enable a new customer/partner with a custom branded deployment of the Health Band with connected app and platform experience. 

The white-label program, includes: 

  • Full SDK support for Android and iOS. 
  • Dedicated white label instance of their CareSpace platform  
  • Custom-branded Health Bands
  • Ability to support third party integrations (Gateway, HR systems, CRM, etc)

7.1 Can the Health Band be custom branded?

CareSpace supports the 3D printing and/or manufacturing of hardware and custom bands in silicon with perfect gradients, logos, illustrations, and unique-color with our direct-to-band (DTB) printing process.

7.2 Are there other material band options for the Health Band?

Yes, there are multiple band options in a variety of materials including latex and nylon with several options to support ergonomic and aesthetic design elements. 



8.1 What alternate solutions does CareSpace provide?

The current CareSpace areas of speciality, include:  

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT: CareSpace supports remote care management for patients with chronic disease.  As part of the solution, CareSpace is a national vendor for the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP).  CareSpace has developed a unique self-service digital therapeutics program that includes self-service tools, programs, connection to devices, etc. with reimbursement for patients with Medicare and Medicaid and/or insurance.


HEALTH BAND COVID-19 MONITORING:  CareSpace is partnered with Microsoft Health and Avnet to deliver the Health Band, a Bluetooth enabled wristband with built-in temperature sensors enabling early detection and management for C-19.


DETECTION AND PREVENTION OF DIABETIC FOOT ULCERS:  CareSpace is working in partnership with Kaiser Permanente to launch CareSoul, the first connected shoe insole to detect, monitor, and manage diabetic foot ulcers.

8.2 Does CareSpace have any patents and/or unique IP?

Yes, CareSpace owns the IP for the Health Band and we’re currently pursuing patents for both the hardware and unique machine learning around our personalized temperature record.

8.3 Does CareSpace have ISO accreditation and certification?

The CareSpace Cloud app in IoTConnect is ISO certified against the four ISO standards (see pg 8 in the following white paper):

  • ISO 27001: Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)
  • ISO 27017: Cloud-specific security control guidance
  • ISO 27018: Protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in public clouds
  • ISO 9001: Quality management systems

There are also additional ISO infrastructure governance certifications, including ISO 27001/2, FIPS 140-2, and NIST 800-53 (see pg 12 in white paper)

In regards to quality assurance of hardware deployment:

  • CM’s certificates for both ISO9100D and ISO13485
  • Both Certificates provide great quality commitments and procedures in place to achieve manufactured hardware free of defects with a Yield target of over 98%
8.4 Do you have an executive summary and background for the leadership in your company?

Yes, the CareSpace Executive Summary can be found here. Our board of directors and their profiles can be found in the executive summary (refer to page 22-23).  Most of our board members are also investors.

8.5 Has CareSpace demonstrated success with improving health outcomes and driving ROI?

Yes, CareSpace has proven success with positive outcomes through a joint partnership with Microsoft Health and Barnes Healthcare. 

CareSpace facilitated remote care management by connecting to tablets, mobile devices and medical devices in patient’s homes. Care coordinators received alerts when necessary to follow up and prevent patients from unnecessary hospital visits.


After six months, patient 30 day readmission rates fell from 89% to 5% within 30 days and provided Barnes Healthcare with an initial cost avoidance of over $14 million.


The success of Barnes Healthcare demonstrates our ability to deliver real value to our

customers. We are now expanding upon our success to support small, medium and

enterprise customers.

Our core reference partners in healthcare, include: 

  • Providence: CareSpace is physically located in the Providence research division.  Providence is deploying the Health Band to their 120k employees and phase II to their 5M+ patients.
